Maze Puzzle Box
Class: ART 103 Creative Practices With New Technology
Professor: Charlie Thacker
With this project, I was tasked with designing any work according to personal interest as long as it was designed by various media from the programs that I studied. I just learned about 3D printing and I'm super excited about it so I want to do work related to 3D printing. I am a person who loves puzzles and mysteries so I chose to create a maze puzzle box. To begin with, I built a 3d model of my puzzle box in Fusion 360.
This was my first time using Fusion 360 so I needed to watch quite a few tutorials to get good at it. It's not easy to learn a new program, but everything needs a start. Once I was satisfied with the design, I printed a 3d draft to see if my design worked well.
My design is a bit tight so it's a bit difficult to rotate to solve the puzzle. So I tweaked my design a bit. In the process, I took a little more inspiration from Russian layered dolls so I designed more layers for my puzzle box.
When 3d printing, I selected a very nice multicolor filament and this choice resulted in a rainbow colored puzzle box that is extremely vibrant.
