BODE is a luxury menswear brand that expresses a sentimentality for the past through the
study of personal narratives and historical techniques. Modern workwear silhouettes united with female-centric traditions of quilting, mending, and appliqué shape the collections. Each piece tells a story and is tailor-made in New York. Bode was the first female designer to show at NYFW: Men’s.

Taking inspiration from the family antique pieces, the currency BODE trades in, upcycling
antique, personal textiles into quilted coats and custom pants and shirts. The use of century old tableclothes, grain sacks, bed linens, and use of beautiful floral embroidered weaves. All these are cut with antiquanian shirts.

I got inspired from the old vintage use of fabrics, how they are brought together from different segments and mixed and matched to produce a splendid product. Use of small animal and bird motifs as embroidery weaves and applique work, to give an elegant finish to the products. I tried to use old spare fabrics and cut them to pieces and bring them together to form a graphic grid.
