BIOARCHAEOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF GRAVES IN CERRO JUAN DIAZ
Dr Smith-Guzmán is a bioarchaeologist with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, their research focuses on the embodied biocultural diversity of the ancient populations in the Isthmo-Colombian Area, particularly evidence of infectious disease and biocultural activity markers.
The comic shows the story of a burial mound at the Cerro Juan Díaz archaeological site, from when the burial is believed to have taken place, through research methodologies, to modern day outreach projects.
