Lost In Thought
My emotion which I want to work on is being lost in thoughts. The emotion behind the thoughts often vary but the facial expression never really changes. I often overthink when I spend time on my own, it is an emotion which I sometimes quite like as it can be relaxing. On the other hand, I go quiet and think to myself when I am nervous or stressed; this could be work stress or nerves before a rugby game. I will be looking to portray this feeling in my portrait.
I decided to recreate a similar look and feel to these photos, both in my photoshoot and my final piece. The colours I chose were selected as they portray the feeling of being lost in thought and I liked how the middle picture used them. The patterning on the face is also something I used this photo for inspiration with. The lighting in my photo was purposeful as I wanted to used light and dark shades of blue for a slightly gloomy effect.
