The Lobster

Inspired by Yorgos Lanthimos's movie The Lobster, this ring is an expression of dystopic ideas on love. Like the comedian in Plato's Banquet, writing on Socrates, this comedian expresses love as a merge of bodies at the end. Though currently, it was clear to be a joke, modern societies and the one in the movie obliviously repeat this message. This restricted, dependent expression of love is shown in the ring through the figure of a lobster grabbing a second finger, which almost merges the fingers. Just like the lovers blind themselves, the fingers tie themselves together in a symbol of dystopic love.
