JHU JIAN CATERING MOSCOT DESIGN

JHU JIAN CATERING is the largest hot pot brand chain in Taiwan, famous for its stone hot pot, as well as several other famous brands of Wagyu beef hot pot and top grade yakiniku.
Knock-Knock Animation was invited to design an exclusive mascot for the JHU JIAN Group.

We designed the JHU JIAN Samurai, who holds a fan to guide the direction of happiness and deliciousness, and the pattern on the fan has a delicious soup on the left and a boiling flame on the right to represent the origin of food, and the samurai is full of faith to start his endless food journey.

MOSCOT POSE DESIGN

Designing multiple sets of performance actions for clients to apply to their own media in a more diverse way.
ex: FB.IG with official website and other graphic design needs.
With these pose applications, the mascot will be able to generate vitality and intimate brand effect.

behind the scenes

In this design direction, there is also an interesting concept, which is the design of the lucky cat / 招き猫.
From the basic cute design, or extended to a simple design style, or directly break the general impression of the cat sitting, retaining the iconic wave and standing posture of the mascot also has a unique design flavor.

When designing this lucky cat mascot, we wanted to create a unique memory point. Since one of the main features of the client's branded products is a complete seafood supply chain, we designed a crab and cat headpiece with the eyes of a greedy ghost, as if he were a cat who loves to eat and wants to invite his friends all the time.
This mascot design is one of our recent favorites. Whether it is the samurai design or the direction of the lucky cat, both of these designs are deeply rooted in our love.

The most difficult part of the mascot design is not the cuteness, nor the big eyes or the big head and small body, I think the most difficult part is whether the character has a soul, if it has a soul, it will be real, it will be likable, and it will reach the hearts of people. I think this time we designed a very good work, we like it, and our customers like it too.
