We were challenged to choose a source of inspirations, create a mood board, and come up with 6 designs minimum based on a designer of our choice. I chose Oscar de la Renta because of his use of bold colors, contrasting textures, and modern yet feminine silhouettes. I chose exotic sea life as my inspiration because I had just gone on a trip to the Shedd Aquarium and I thought the fish and sea vegetation was both gorgeous and fluid, and I wanted to challenge myself to translate that into apparel designs.
