Kooky Crockery is a collection that I designed in my third year of studying at the Bath School of Art and Design. The brief was to design a collection of prints that could be used to redecorate the cafe on the arts campus using the history of the building as inspiration. Whilst researching into the campus I discovered that it was formerly the Bath School of Domestic Science, where food writer and presenter Mary Berry studied in the 1960's. After researching into 60's food that might have been created in the building at the time, the strange looking desserts I found really inspired me to create fun and vibrant illustrations that made modern prints from retro food. I have always loved 60's design so loved using a different colour palette and trippy design aspects to reflect that.
