Boomin' Busts was an NFT project I embarked on during the height of the two-year 'stay indoors' experiment and the non-fungible art madness. In an effort to stay creative during the time, I wanted to see if I could create a fun collection of art that would not only keep me sane, but potentially generate a little ETH coin in the meantime.
The name "Boomin' Busts" stems from the 'boom and bust' gold rush era, where people hastily made their way west as gold was uncovered in the mountains all the way to California. When cryptocurrencies hit the scene, it seemed like NFT projects were following a similar trajectory. The name also works as a double-entendre since these could be considered a collection of awesome (boomin'; in 80's hiphop terminology) busts.

The idea was to make a different kind of collectible art piece with some of my favorite NBA players -- that doubled as a sports card, yet didn't corner each player into whatever team they were currently on. Hence, I went with just the bust of each player and added fun accessories that added to the character of the art.

In the upper left corner of each player card is the initial of the city of which the player plays in, and the stars represent the players number. The colored backgrounds represent the team colors with mint being the highest value. The collection slated to have some limited edition drops like the 'Ice Trey' art shown below, as well framed prints available for purchase in the future.
