                                                                     REDESIGNING AARONG
Aarong is a chain of Bangladeshi department stores specializing in Bengali ethnic wear and handicrafts. It is owned by the non-profit development agency BRAC, and employs thousands of rural artisans across the country. It currently operates twenty-one outlets in nine Bangladeshi metropolitan cities, one of them is in Gulshan.

In a land of 10,000 sqft, an outlet is redeveloped representing Aarong.
Aarong is known for it's fabric and I wanted to create an architecture that represented Aarong through lightweight and fluid structure. My biggest inspiration was none other than Frei Otto, a structural engineer, noted for his use of lightweight structures, in particular tensile and membrane structures.
