This illustration is inspired by the song It’s Hard to Get Around the Wind by Alex Turner, which was written for the movie Submarine (2011). I have always been captivated by the six songs made for this movie and the themes they cover. When it comes to taking pills, unlike the more cheerful and iconic song lyric offered by Mary Poppins (“a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down”), Alex offers a more daunting advice to help the listener reflect - “But as long as you still keep peppering the pill, You'll find a way to spit it out again. And even when you know the way it's gonna blow, It's hard to get around the wind”.
