Styles (Line, Typographic, Geometric, Circular)

I looked at example pictures to get this project going. I found that the single line style was the most straightforward. It was difficult, but I focused my attention on the core shape of the item, which helped me to simplify it.
The geometric style was the one I enjoyed the most. In order to design a geometric item, I would first draw a simple picture of the subject and then create a pointed outline. I would then add triangles, giving each of them a contrasting color to create a geometric effect. When I was done, the result was nice.
The circular and typographic styles were the most challenging for me.The typography style forced me to study an object's shape to see how it could be converted into letters that make up a word. It was difficult getting the object to look like the item while still being legible. I understood that for this to work, the usage of the available space had to be just right which is what I mostly kept getting wrong.
I was initially lost before I even began using each style. Though  I did my best to look at and study examples of each, however WIP days were the most beneficial to me. I was able to more clearly grasp what was required of me by seeing how others used each style. It also gave me the confidence to attempt and change my styling. For instance, I had some untidy and unequal single lines, but after hearing this in class, I was able to recognize what needed to be fixed, and I corrected it.
Another example would be my typographic style. The finished revisions aren’t the best, but I am proud that you can see improvement. They went from thin letters that didn’t look much like the object they were supposed to be, to thicker letters that had a shape that helped to create the object of the word they were representing.
I have more of an understanding about style when it comes to design. I enjoyed trying different kinds of styles and using them with the same objects. It helped me to see how a different style can affect the design you are trying to create. Style is an important aspect of design and it's up to the designer on what styles they should use, and whatever style they chose can make or break the design.
