RM – Primary Maths
As the newly appointed Art Director, when I joined RM one of the first tasks was to enhance the RM Primary Maths Software package.
The original brand assets and product imagery were limited and relied heavily on the pixelated cartoon characters developed for use within the software maths exercises
One of the first elements I developed was a new logo for the product brand, to work in black and white and full colour.
The next area for further development were the characters created for the software. As the investment in these up to that date had been great, I expanded on their design to create characters more suitable for appearing in print or at larger sizes.
As part of this exercise I produced a series of character model sheets.
Following the development of the characters and the production of the model sheets I went on to create digital cartoon illustrations for use within the software and on the product packaging.
Finally I designed the packaging itself, not just the surface graphics but also the box construction before overseeing and managing the production process through an outside third party.
