WAR/LIFE BALANCE project

WAR/LIFE BALANCE
This is a project within the framework of the residence at the book festival LITR in Olomouc, Czech Republic. I tried to tell about ordinary everyday life in the city of Odesa, which is about 150-200 km from the front, from the territories occupied by the Russian Federation. this is a project that people adapt over time and get used to even the worst by combining martial law and their ordinary life.
The whole city is dotted with anti-tank hedgehogs, I live next to the regional administration, here people eventually began to decorate them with flowers.
There are many post-Soviet playgrounds in our country, they are often in the form of rockets and space-themed. Now cruise (and other) missiles from the sky from the same "space state" fly through them daily.
All people are subscribed to various pages or applications that notify from air raid alerts. According to the rules, you must go down to the basement or other shelter, but if this is not possible, it is better to stay in the bathroom (two-wall rule) and cover yourself with a blanket or towel (protection from splinters). I so often sit in the bathroom and distract myself with Tik-Tok. :)
Just before my trip to the residence, the Russian military often began to use Iranian drones that flew right over the historical center of Odesa with a lot of beautiful architecture, and now it just flies over the opera house along with birds. The reason is that at that time our military had not yet learned how to shoot them down well.
On the windows you can often see adhesive tape sealed with a cross, they say this helps to reduce fragments in case of a possible explosion. These windows are still decorated with flowers, it looks a little surreal.
The exhibition was in the gallery Vertigo in the center of Olomouc.
Thank you for watching and supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians!
