Skype App Redesign

In this project, I took on the challenge of redesigning the interface of the Skype app, with the goal of improving the user experience and adding new features to enhance its functionality. The current Skype interface was cluttered and difficult to navigate, with limited functionality and no easy way to access frequently used features.

To address these issues, I started by conducting user research and task analysis to gain a deeper understanding of the needs and pain points of Skype users. From there, I developed a new interface design that prioritized simplicity, ease of use, and accessibility.
The new interface features a homepage that provides quick and easy access to commonly used features, such as recent chats, contacts, and calls. A floating screen option allows users to multitask while staying connected with their video call, and a direct link to OneDrive makes it easy to share and collaborate on documents in real-time.

In-call chat with document previews allows for seamless collaboration, and screen share options have been expanded to offer more sharing options for an improved user experience. Finally, I introduced a team mode where users can work on a project or presentation with their team within a video call, making it easier to collaborate remotely.
Overall, this redesign project represents a significant step forward for the Skype app, offering a more streamlined and user-friendly interface, while introducing new features that enhance its functionality and make it easier to collaborate and communicate with others.
