Packaging development for the Baltika Brew Collection

The Baltika Brewing Company asked us to design a label for an exclusive craft beer that would be exported to the US market.
We needed to emphasize the "Russianness" of the product as well as its atmosphere without relying too heavily on classical images. In addition, it was important to show that the beer is the author's.
Baltika's new line of beer is the unique creation of the company's leading brewers, with their many years of experience and unique vision of the world. It is a new and fresh look at the famous beer styles, which has absorbed all the best that is unique to Russian beer culture.

It is the Russian interpretation of familiar world varieties, new and unusual, that allows real connoisseurs of the author's beer to get acquainted with the Russian interpretation of familiar world varieties, reinterpreted and enriched by the brewers of Baltika.
THE PROCESS
We have deeply studied the analytics and product tests provided by the client. And on the basis of specific figures and objections, several variants of key images were demonstrated.

All of them were thoroughly tested on the audience. As a result, we came to this option:
This is not just a morning in a pine forest, but also a mood, recalling the paintings and literature of classical Russian masters. We conducted a photo shoot and performed professional retouching of each bottle. This visual has become a key visual element that is used in an advertising campaign, identifying the unique values of the brand.
RUSSIAN
IMPERIAL
STOUT
This is not an ordinary stout: imagine that you are holding a beautiful and one-of-a-kind work of art in your hands. To create this author's beer, we reworked the historical recipe, adding a distinct, fresh, Russian flavor to it that will be sure to please.

Russian Imperial Stout from the Baltika Brew collection series is a modern interpretation of the old recipe "Scottish Courage", created at the Baltika microbrewery in St. Petersburg together with Tim O'Rourke's project "The Great Baltic Adventure" and a group of British brewers.
RUSSIAN
AMBER
ALE
Walk out to the edge of the forest and listen to the midday silence... Put your palm on the golden trunk in caramel drops of resin, feel the warm smell of pine needles, feel the slight bitterness of pine bark on your lips.

We were inspired to create an exclusive variety of Russian Amber Ale by genuine masterpieces of painting – the stunning landscapes of famous masters, singers of Russian nature. In this unique dark amber beer with its persistent, rich hop aroma, we recreated the astringency and sweetness of forest air - heated by the sun, fragrant and intoxicating.

In one sip - the Ship Grove, the mighty Russian forest with its calm strength and wisdom, will appear before you.
RUSSIAN
HOPPY
LAGER
What will the Cherry Orchard look like at the end of the morning? The slanting rays of the sun draw on delicate greenery, fruit trees are illuminated with golden undertones, and a fresh aroma of herbal bitterness comes from the mown meadow. The idyllic setting in which inspiration is born.

Russian Hoppy Lager embodies the depth and harmony of a beautiful classical work. Its bright and fresh content is balanced with restraint of form, refreshing ethereal sweetness of aroma, and traditional hop bitterness. This beer may seem light and carefree – but, as the heroes of the Russian novel, it has a core.
We have a sophisticated collection with the author's seal of the brewer, stylish, but belonging to Russian culture. Such a beer is pleasant not only to drink, but also to hold in your hands. After all, this is a real piece of art!
