A Sheridan College 2nd Year project in the Props department, where students designed and built concept puppet models, just focusing on functionality, not final finishings. This model was for a flower/mouth that opened and closed. Fishing line was attached to the tip of each petal and run down the tube stem where it was bundled and tied off at the bottom. When the bundle was pulled at the bottom, the lines were pulled and the petals closed. Several mock up petal designs were made before arriving at the final, to ensure minimal gaps when the petals closed, and no hang-up of lines.
