Neonatal incubator design

The design of the incubator has been designed to make the work of the staff easier and also to make the baby's mother feel more comfortable. The design therefore uses mainly organic shaping to counteract the machine-like nature of the product. The cover is made of double plexiglass and takes advantage of the shape possibilities of the material. The dimensions and positioning of the individual elements are adjusted for ergonomically better access to the incubator.
The plexiglass cover includes four hand ports. Inside the cover is a newborn bed with integrated weight. Underneath is the incubator tub with space for all the necessary equipment - water reservoir, oxygen supply, heating coil, bacteriological filter, fan, control unit, batteries and air mixing point.

There is a storage area under the bath. The chassis has a height adjustment of the whole apparatus namely foot pedals. The chassis is connected to Steinco casters that are adapted to the medical environment.The rear section houses the lifting mechanism and control panel. A display is also located on the front, used to display the baby's vital signs and incubator settings.

The dimensions of the incubator are based on the body proportions of the person, basic ergonomic rules and the dimensions of the equipment already in use. The height of the designed incubator is 2100 mm. The main part is 700 mm wide. On the chassis, the wheels are brought outside the edge of the device to ensure better stability. At its widest point, the incubator is 780 mm wide.
