"CONSUME"
"Consume" is a series of staged photographs touching upon women's experience, consumption, and consumerism. As a woman, I find myself consume many different things compared to men everyday, from cosmetics, feminine products, to birth control pills and painkillers. Not all of them I enjoy consuming while forcing myself not to consume what I should such as food in order to fit it the "beauty standard." These products for women, are usually promoted as "natural" and "necessary" yet charged at a higher price and still very much poisonous. At the end of the day, my health, my money, my time and effort are all consumed by these products. And women themselves, are more or less, consumed by the society expectations and the capitalism. The ocean and sea animals, are at the same time, suffocating by consuming these trash we put out into the environment.
Like downward spiral, we consume a lot yet still starving, and suffering.
