Industrial design project I've applied to a RedDot Awards 2019 competition as a Concept Design category entry. Main goal was to come up with something that's possible to manufacture with existing technology and something that abides the laws of physics, regardless of mass-market scale. 

After some research and development I came up with an idea of merging a VR experience of dynamic viewport inside a headset and common display technology that typical consumer is used to. 

Most of the research went into linear magnetic motors, wether they can be operated and designed as imagined in the concept (they actually can!).

Solidworks modeling went alongside with physical simulation to ensure concept feasibility.

My entry has been quite late to the party hence the sub par quality of renderings and materials, but I'll post it "as-is" anyway. 

The concept has made it into the finals in "Entertainment" category, but lost to a much more creative competitors, such as a bluetooth speakers, bluetooth headphones and thin TVs.
