Can design be used as a tool to dignify the work of an invisible collective?
The project that is exposed below aims to dignify the work done by a group that is not very visible, such as homeless people.
The design will be the tool of union between the objective of the project and its coherence with the context of the collective and its needs. The ecosystem of the project is the one that will shape the product, and this, in turn, will be the connection between all the parts that make up the ecosystem. I look for a circular system in which all the parts that make it up have a coherence, both at the time of obtaining the material, as in the realization of it. The work element is mainly the recycled tire, because of the waste it generates, and with it, a chair will be made, referring to Elisava's plastic chair.
For this, I take into account how the material of the chair is obtained, how the object itself is and what processes and tools will be used, in order to ensure its functionality and manufacture.
Therefore, the important points of the project are the raw material, the recycling, the producers, the context.
