Back with another bag

I’m back with another fashion post!! This time I wanted to share with you all my recent work. Lately I haven’t been sewing as much as I would normally (due to focusing on classes) but I did get the chance to sew and since it’s been a while making a tote bag, that was the very thing I wanted to work on!! In the first photo you see, this was actually a custom order for a friend! When asking her what kind of color what she looking for, she said just for me to be creative and freestyle, and so I did! The thought process of making this bag was using the scraps I had from a previous idea and incorporating that into this design.

I wanted this bag to be different from what I usually do, which means it was going to take more creativity and time. I knew I wanted the bag to be brown; my vision was for it to come out looking like a grocery bag, so that was my base. My two sides came from the scraps of a previous bag that I worked on, which both were used as a side panel. And the remaining bits and pieces of that color fabric was used for the straps which created this patterned look that was actually cute and different. This was created by placing the scraps like a candy cane pattern, and then sewing on the sides so it can be secured. I had to go back in reinforce some so they would remain sturdy.

She ended up loving the bag which I’m glad!! Here’s a photo of the final look! I hope you enjoyed it!!
