Brand identity design for Bristol Zoo Gardens. Founded in 1836, it is the fifth oldest zoo in the world, and has over 400 species. Initial experiments looked at potato printing and the texture it makes on a page. These textures developed into animal silhouettes to create a logo that at first glance looks like a potato print, but on further inspection is actually made up of hundreds of animals. The logo works on any size or scale but the more you look (and the bigger the image) – the more you see. The 'Zoo' can enlarge and parts can be used to from graphics for everything from wall paintings to signage and brochure covers.
