Character Silhouette
For this Assignment, I had to develop three character silhouettes expressing a spices, occupation and emotion.
The first character is a sad dinosaur chef basing off the species of a triceratops and a chef hat to show it occupation, but I tried to show the sad emotion by thinking of a sad dog that lays on its front legs, but I also turned its horn and beak to be faced downward.
Next up is the happy alien cowboy which took me a while to finalize an alien design as they are considered fictional and can be formed in any shape, so I made irregular human by giving it a literal hourglass figure and legs of a quadruped's hinds legs and glove like hands inspired by the martian from Loony Tunes. Finally, the head was made by a random line streak, the ears were made by a different line streak and the head tail was made with a tadpole in mind after I saw the head shape. Next up was designing the cowboy aspect of the character and I made it by giving it some cowboy boots with spurs, vest, hat, neck bandanna and a lasso along with a space gun. Finally, the happy emotion was entirely based off Micky Mouse usual open arms stance with the head tilted upwards.
Lastly, I had to design an angry robot pirate. Like usual, I started with a base species of a robot. While human beings usually think of a robot as perfect and symmetrical, I wanted to go rogue like a pirate and made an awkward body of asymmetrical arms, one being thick to block incoming blows and the other a thin frame to easily move around and quick draw a gun if necessary. I designed the trends and eyes/head to reflect Wall-E because he's pretty much a pirate already, plundering loot from wrecks and fallen robots. Not to mention, Wall-E snuck onto a ship and fought against the ship captain winning over the crew. I shaped the eyes to show anger as that's the only place I can think of implementing emotions that does not seem to be a fighting pirate. I handed it a scimitar, captain hat, broad shoulders shown as gears and a spyglass on its waist.
