In this project I was instructed to conduct field research on a real place in Phoenix Arizona and come up with a final poster that properly represents the chosen place. I chose to conduct my research on The Japanese Friendship Garden

These are some of the thumbnails I created using sketches and photos I had from my visit to the garden. I used inspiration from vintage nasa and travel posters.

These are some roughs I created with a combination of pieces from my thumbnails. I ended up using the one on the far left for my final but I decided to add "find sanctuary here" to the center to really capture the message of the garden.
