Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design 2022 Grad Show
Welcome to PEEK - Tafe SA's Adv. Diploma in Graphic Design Grad Show for 2022,

I was an honour to work with such an amazing group of people, who worked tirelessly to bring our grad show to life - Andrea Christie, James Baird, Laura Sivewright, Madison Prest, Michelle Vega Ramirez, Nicole Jesenko, Ruth Elliot, Linda Stanway, Luke Dixon.

I was an honour to work with such an amazing group of people, who worked tirelessly to bring our grad show to life - Andrea Christie, James Baird, Laura Sivewright, Madison Prest, Michelle Vega Ramirez, Nicole Jesenko, Ruth Elliot, Linda Stanway, Luke Dixon.
Each student designed their own eye and then Laura Sivewright refined them so they would look cohesive.
Part of my role as animator included preparing the AI files to be imported into After Effects for animating. I did this by separating the elements of the eyes onto different layers and refining the paths so they would be easier and smoother to animate.
In total there were 11 individual eyes that needed to be animated. Each eye's blinking and peeking animations is different in order to suit their design, giving them their own personality.

On the night, as everyone was entering the cinema, we had the eyes appearing and disappearing, as if the were peeking from behind a curtain in anticipation for the show to start.
We then had a sequence were the eyes would watch the speaker as they gave the welcoming speech to the audience and introduced the presentation.

Below are a selected few transition sequences I animated. These appeared in between everyone's show reels and worked as a short introduction into their work. Each individual was responsible for creating their own eye and pattern, as a way to inject their own personality into the event.
