Spine and Rib cage

The spine and rib cage are two important structures in the human body. The spine is a long, flexible column of bones that extends from the base of the skull to the pelvis. It consists of 33 vertebrae, which are separated by intervertebral discs that allow for movement and support. The spine is responsible for supporting the body, protecting the spinal cord, and providing attachment points for muscles and ligaments.

The rib cage, on the other hand, is a series of curved bones that encase and protect the vital organs in the chest, including the heart and lungs. It consists of 12 pairs of ribs, the sternum, and the thoracic vertebrae. The rib cage provides support and protection for the chest, allowing for breathing by expanding and contracting with each breath.

Together, the spine and rib cage form the core of the human body and play crucial roles in supporting and protecting the body. Without them, we would be unable to move and breathe properly. It is important to take care of these structures by maintaining good posture and avoiding activities that put excessive stress on them.
