Captain Obvious Comic

This comic was my first project using Photoshop and thus it doubled as a hands-on training. I got the inspiration after seeing a video tutorial on the VFXBro YouTube channel where he cartooned his face for a logo. It involved basic colour picking from a source image and then painting overtop of individual elements. My starting image, which is posted above, is a still from one of my own comedy videos on YouTube. The dialogue in the comic is what was actually being said at that point of the video

The final comic took about 5-6 hours to complete since it my first time using the program. Much of the time was spent familiarizing myself with the layout, tools, and working with multiple layers. There were also frequent breaks to watch YouTube tutorials and scan online forums for "how-to" answers. The entire comic was drawn with a computer mouse and the pen tool in Photoshop with the excepetion of parts of the t-shirt art, for which I used the paintbrush tool.
