Long Exposure Photography: Shutter Speed
This is a long exposure shutter speed project. The goal of this project was to do a long exposure Picasso style product image of my Boudoir Album Box. I wanted to capture the Boudoir box and heels in full focus with streaks of light around the box and highlighting both the box and heels with light.
How I made this image:
1. I set up my boudoir box with the red bottom heels and prepped it how I wanted it on my red satin dress and red satin robe.
2. I used my camera tripod stand and angled the camera down towards the box.
3. I placed my Godox AD 400 light with black reflective umbrella to the left of the camera and aimed down at the box.
4. I set my shutter speed to 30" seconds on my camera and then hit the shutter button.
5. Then I went around the box and shoes with my camera flash light on the brightest setting to outline the shoes and box to create highlights. Then, I sat the phone down behind the box for about 3 seconds, so that it was long enough for the camera to capture the light.
6. Then I moved out the way once the timer went off.
The Editing:
1. I started in lightroom to make sure my colors looked correct and to sharpen the image.
2. I took it into photoshop from there and used stamp and healing tool to clean up the image. I used the tools to take out any marks or specks that was not supposed to be in the image.
3. I replaced the background with an adobe stock image of red silk to match the dress and robe I had in the image by using the masking tool. Then, I used content aware for the bottom right corner to make my robe fill the image.
4. Then, I dodged and burned some areas of the robe to make it have more depth.
