“Don’t just own the suit, be the Suit”

What is Super Ordinary? What happens when we recreate words to inspire us? Super ordinary is unnoticed; to be thoughtless and go through ones day completely unaware. It is when we become unconscious and running on auto pilot with no personal belief or questions that we as a culture become Super Ordinary. Culture is Super Ordinary by the huge influence of popular culture, media, and advertisement which has made us numb and blind. The language and imagery have controlled our thoughts and beliefs. Many philosophers like Leavis have studied how cultures are made entirely on one thought or influence like media and how masses continue to think in one way.  My goal is to highlight some of the influences like language, imagery, and advertisement within western cultures and provoke the idea of personal opinion. By making the statement ‘if it was in Vogue you would buy it’. I have made a prototype of the clear suit jacket covered in advertisement and media with the idea that if vogue told you, you would. As I continue further with the idea that if vogue told you, you would.

Made from PVC textiles, Acitate, News Print, and Gold Leaf covered buttons.
This Suit Jacket is completely translucent.
