During lockdown, I was struggling to get into the Christmas spirit (as I think a lot of people did). We couldn't see our families, there were no Christmas parties, and we couldn't even go to the pub! At the same time, I had become a little bit obsessed with board games, and I thought maybe a Christmas-themed game would help us get into the swing of things. But after a bit of searching, I came up empty - there just aren't really any Christmas-themed board games out there. Which is a bit weird.

So I decided to create my own! It's called Stocking Stuffers, and casts players as elves in training, trying to deliver presents to a particularly difficult and dangerous neighbourhood. It all came together pretty quickly. Playtesting and tweaking took a while, but I think it's finally at a point where I can create some fun artwork to really hammer home the theme.

These illustrations are for some of the item and event cards in the game, which players can pick up every time they land on a Mystery Gift space. The trickiest part was designing the layout of the cards themselves.
