Violent Beauty is a fictional magazine that focuses on spotlighting experienced designers and artists in China. This March issue titled ‘Violent Beauty’ features renowned Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang (蔡國強), exploring his many works throughout his practice and discover why he is being known as the ‘explosives artist’ . The content of the magazine further explained why he had consistently uses gun powder as his medium of art to create many magnificent art pieces throughout his twenty years in his art career.
This spread was designed with an exploration and play with text layout and hierarchy to summarise the timeline of all Cai Guo Qiang's solo exhibition over the thee decades.
