While learning about the technical possibilities of the manually operated knitting machine, students explore color, pattern, materials and structure. Through weekly assignments, students develop a sample library that serves as a resource for subsequent work. A final project involves planning and sampling for a final project.
Final Project
I was born on a tropical island, but I have no memory of it
because my family moved back to Korea right after I was born.
My parents promised me to take me to that Island since I was a child,
but they haven't kept their promise to this day
My obsession for the island grew and only thing I could do was create my own island in my head.
I wanted to create a physical vesion my fantasy island through knitted fabric.
