Consisting of four sustainable fabrics, the SHY series takes its inspiration from the natural phenomenon called crown shyness. It is a fact supported by scientific research that trees can feel pain and have memories. In many ways, trees are social beings just like us. One of the ways they express their respect and kindness for each other is crown shyness.
Crown shyness is explained as the topmost branches of some tall plant species, such as eucalyptus, spruce, Japanese larch, lodgepole pine, black mangrove, elm, avoiding touching each other. Although it was first observed in the 1920s, its definition has been made recently. This distance is realized in three main possibilities, to prevent the top branches from colliding with each other and breaking in windy weather, to facilitate access to the sun and to prevent the passage of insects between the trees.

The breathtakingly clear forms created by this event resemble the image of a leaf under a microscope.
During the pandemic process, it would be good for us to look at the distance measure we take to protect ourselves and our environment, perhaps with the eyes of nature.
This miraculous natural phenomenon has been a great source of inspiration in the forms it has created. Shy the fabric series was designed with the inspiration of the clear fullness and emptiness scheme offered by crown shyness, in which abstract geometric shapes dance around each other and form a whole, without touching each other.

The initial design process began with implementing a grid system for turning random empty spaces into a controlled scheme.

Shy has a color palette consisting of pale tea tree greens and beige tones and it has been created with sustainable fabrics such as linen, lyocell and modal.
