I had the honor to design a printed program (playbill) for the first Polish staging of the "Matilda the Musical". The musical was co-produced by two theaters: the Syrena Theater from Warsaw and the Kameralny Theater from Bydgoszcz.
This playbill contains a list of artists, actors from children and adult casts. In addition, the program includes biographies of the most important artists, the Matilda Universe, and texts about "Matilda the Musical" written by journalists and theater staff.

I decided to make the program look like a school notebook. The program was printed on ecco book paper, which perfectly imitates a school notebook from the previous era, but is also ecological. The notebook in many places is decorated with small drawings, doodles and scribbles so that it resembles a naughty child's notebook... because "Sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty";)
The program includes a chapter of the Matilda Universe. There are selected the most important characters with a description. I have drawn and painted the characters myself. I tried to convey the atmosphere of illustrations by the master Quentin Blake - the illustrator of books by Roald Dahl.
In the margins of the program there are notes of children from the children's cast of "Matilda", played at the Kameralny Theater from Bydgoszcz. Notes answer the question: do books give superpowers?
