'Come Play With Us' is my submission for my final assessment for the first year of Fashion Design studies at QUT.

My mood board explores softness, and aims to give the viewer an unsettling feeling.

The brief for this assessment was to create four commercial shirt silhouettes based off of one of our silhouettes from our avant-garde assessment in A1 of Semester 2. The scenario was that the four silhouettes would be stocked in Dover St. Market in London.

Silhouette #1 was the silhouette that I designed, pattern-made and constructed for this assessment. It features two collars on the shoulders, as well as a long neckline collar piece that can be tied into a bow. Other details include topstitched pintucks on the front and back,as well as ribbon and lace trim.

Silhouette #2 continues the mood, also encapsulating unsettling, youthful energy. Featuring double bow aspects, pin tucks and a double collar, this silhouette is a ballooned-out shape with short sleeves.

Silhouette #3 would be the most difficult to pattern-make and construct, as it features an entirely pin-tucked body. These pin tucks are pin stitched down, and a placket with hidden buttons sits central on the front of the garment. Two bows, one on each of the shoulders stand above organza translucent sleeves, and a ruched, frill collar sits high on the neck.

Silhouette #4 aims to encapsulate the feeling and features of the rest of the collection on a smaller scale. pin tucks that are top-stitched down fall into a frill base, and two bows sit on the bust, bringing a feminine, slightly sexual touch to the otherwise very kid-ish collection.

I wanted to depict my fabrics in a creative way that aligned with my collection's designs, so tied them all into bows and stitched or tied them onto this teddy bear. Without eyes, the teddy bear is very unsettling.
