Tent making is one of the traditional crafts in the history of the region. The material used in making the tents has been used in many house-holds in making bags, rugs and covers. As the fibers and the strings start to come together in the process of making products, negative spaces begin to be created. When the strings cluster together they create openings that get smaller as the strings are tightened up together. This process of weaving the fabric could be interpreted as the private and the public of the program in the studio project. The more opened spaces facing the view present the public. On the other hand, the more solid with little openings spaces could present the private. I could apply the idea of interlocking of spaces to create different levels of residency that overlook the natural view. A starting point of the pre-design phase was
to analyze the different site forces in order to overlay a grid accordingly. I took the views of the natural landscape into consideration when arranging the public and the private programs. The cliff line defines the distribution of spaces; there are programs behind the cliff line, the rest in front of it. One another factor that emphasized my conceptual concept is the wind. The blowing of the wind creates volumes that define its path.
