Sculpting the Outfitting In My First C1 Kayak

I based this project on Dagger Kayak's Large Kingpin Icon playboat. The spine, back band and anodized brackets were salvaged from a retired LiquidLogic creek boat.

I spent a lot of time dialing this outfitting in, most importantly, the center of buoyancy. Shaping took about a week... The entire project took about 1.5 months… Enjoy!
SCULPTING
Notice the "blockiness" of the foam in the cockpit of the boat, I had completed the rough shaping at this point.
Sculpting the thigh pockets, saddle and accessory landing.
Sculpting the knee and shin pads.
TEST FITTING THE BACK BAND
Test fitting the back band for the first time.
CHECKING BACK BAND RANGE OF MOTION

The back band limiting brackets have been trimmed and covered in foam to protect the spray skirt from abrasion. I also added a horn behind the back band to allow the back band to move freely under the spray skirt.
ACCESSORIZING
I added a water bottle holder and a Pelican box with Velcro mount and safety tether with quick release buckle.
Finally, I added an accessory cover which doubles as an over thruster and a knee belt complete with aviation grade buckle.
