ENCAGED is an audiovisual installation by media.tribe that uses two laser projectors and a tall layher structure to create ephemeral light structures in space. ENCAGED is a metaphor for the creative process of media.tribe, who impose limitations on themselves to explore new possibilities of expression.
A Dialogue Between Light and Space
In this audiovisual installation, media.tribe explores the relationship between light and space using two laser projectors and a tall layher structure as their main tools. The laser beams form intricate geometries in space that reflect on themselves, creating an illusion of depth and dimensionality. The layher structure acts as both a support and a limit for the light show, representing the tension between freedom and restriction that media.tribe experiences as artists working with new media technology. The installation also incorporates sound and movement as elements that modulate the intensity and rhythm of the work.
