Parametric Vessels
I wanted to break down the logic behind an object, in this case a simple faceted vessel form. In an attempt to design the platonic idea of something rather than an object’s final state I created a grasshopper script which simultaneously modeled a folded vessel form (to match infinitely variable input values) and generate its laser cut pattern. The following two vessels are stainless steel representations of this idea, but this logic can be extended to other forms, roles, and materials. This project later evolved into the Parametric Pendants displayed above after I evaluated the pros and cons of the Vessel designs and manufacturing process.
