There are two concept images. The first image is the first pass through and vision I had for a lake house. I also played around with placement and decided on cornering the set and adding a porch with overhead wooden beams. I ended up changing my concept art after a meeting with the director and hearing her idea and vision of the set. I decided to change the position and explore the idea of expanding the overhead wooden beams. I changed the position of the house to the center, got rid of the wooden porch, and expanded the overhead wooden beams to stretch across the stage. I think this rendition of the set is the best and helps to mark the importance of the house and why the family members want or sell the house.
I will attach some more concept art and how I explored creating the set in the images below. Hopefully, this will explain my design process and thinking, and the design decisions I made.
