Research Method Illustration

I am often involved in coral reef research because of my college course. Sometimes, so that the understanding of research methods can be easily understood, I make illustrations. The following is an Underwater Photo Transect method used in the media for monitoring coral reef ecosystems monthly.

I love both Science and Art, one of my dream is become a Scientific Illustrator, but dont know how to start it. If you guys know about this profession, kindly share with me please! ^^
