MULTI-FUNCTIONAL FURNITURE FOR TINY HOMES
A multi-functional furniture design that has been created to be specifically used for Tiny Homes and similar small areas and spaces.
The idea behind this project was to create a design idea that helps tackle the ongoing housing and cost of living crisis in the UK. Creating a convenient piece of furniture that will enable more people to downsize in Tiny Homes, whilst still being able to have all the necessary pieces of furniture in their home without the worry that they wont fit in a smaller space.
Key considerations of this project was to ensure that different pieces of furniture have been included in one, convertible and multi-functional furniture piece. These formations that needed to be included in the design are:
Desk - To be able to be converted to a desk to enable help people that work from home have a convenient place to work remotely.
Sofa - To be able to be converted to a sofa to ensure that there is a comfortable place to relax in the home.
Bed - To be able to be converted to a bed to have a space for the user to sleep comfortably but also minimize the use of space when it is not being used.
Storage - To have a space in the design specifically for storage.
Formation of the furniture when it is not in use to minimize space.
