This was a university project where we were tasked with creating a set of plastic cutlery. In this project I decided to create a set for camping, as the existing products designed for this market have drawbacks. In my research I discovered that when eating food with existing 3-in-1 products, it was often difficult when two implements were required for a single task, such as a fork for holding food still and knife to cut it, or a fork and spoon for eating spaghetti. Other cutlery sets had 3 pieces, which were harder to keep track of and clean. When designing this product, I reasoned that when eating, the knife and fork are used in conjunction, and the fork and spoon, but rarely, if ever, the knife and spoon. This product fills a gap in the market for a cutlery set which has all the necessary tools at hand, in a more compact form, without inconveniencing the user by limiting their use of the individual tools.
