“Sigur Rós - Ekki Múkk” - 10 Year Anniversary Campaign.

September 8th, 2012,

I directed my first short film on a whim in my first year of University.

The film was part of a contest by music group Sigur Rós to create a music video for one of their songs off their newly released album, Valtari. And so a small 4 man crew, 2 person cast led to a beautiful, transfixing experience, which then led to awards, and over 90,000 views online via YouTube.

10 years have since passed, and to commemorate its release, I devised a short anniversary campaign, designing posters and crafting a short reel that captures the beauty and soul of what makes the film what it is.
For the identity, I wanted the “X” to not only symbolize ten years, but also play into the lore of the film which finds one person learning to love another person without relying on their eyes.

A crossing over, if you will, between two worlds.

And the “X” is never fully visible, but is ever present.

You can experience the film in full below.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you again soon.
