Photography
Prompt: Photo portraits and lighting.
Media: Phone
1. Self portrait
I decided to have some fun with this photo and slapped some cheap sunglasses on and went outside during the late morning.
2. Portrait
I got my boyfriend to help me out with this photo. I took several photos before deciding on this one since you could see the laptop in the background, which I felt reflected some of his personality of being an absolute computer nerd.
3. Small world
I did two versions of this prompt. For the first one I used small versions of objects that I got from my sister and placed them on a tissue. Originally I wanted to have them on the grass, but since the grass was uneven and it was windy, the objects get falling over and I ended up taking it on the concrete. The second image includes a toy stegosaurus placed in a large pot of small plants.

4. Object
I used a small fake pot plant as the object and set it up in four different places at different times. The first three I used natural lighting (during the morning, at noon, and in the afternoon, in that order) and the last one I used artificial red lighting.
5. Texture
I found a leaf on the ground in the backyard that I assume fell from the mango tree and captured a close up picture of it. The second image is a close up shot of the colourful icing on a cupcake. For the third one, I was messing around with lighting and transparent objects at night and managed to get an image of a torch being shone through a textured glass cup against the wall that created a strange almost geometric shaped lighting.
Reflection: I found the portraits a little difficult since I wasn't used to taking pictures of myself and other people very often, and felt a little uncomfortable in asking others if I could take a photo of them, but I managed to get it done and am quite happy with how they turned out. In the future, however, I should probably try to get more comfortable with taking photos of people.

On the other hand, I found the texture photography fun, especially when using the micro lens camera mode on my phone and taking photos of objects up incredibly close, sometimes seeing things that I normally wouldn't see with the naked eye.

I'm also incredibly happy with my object photography images, especially the image I took in the late afternoon around during golden hour with the sunlight. I also like the image with the red lighting, and will definitely consider using my LED colour lights more often if I do this again in the future.
