I very much enjoyed this module because it made me think about sustainable and environmentally friendly design. This brief was quite challenging, as it required me to make a product out of recycled materials to be sold in Marks and Spencers. Therefore the finished product had to have the look and feel of a quality piece. I chose to make an earing and necklace set for Autograph, a sub brand for Marks and Spencers jewellery department, out of aluminium cans. I also designed its outer packaging and label.

This project enabled me to push my boundaries in terms of conceptual thinking. In todays day and age it’s very important to consider how we design and what materials we choose, sustainability in design is key to reduce the damage to our planet.
