ADVENTURES OF KALI
 AND DURGA
The  piece presented here is a comic made during the unit Comic and Graphic Narrative, about a girl with supernatural powers where she hears voices that are supposedly the thoughts of others. She meets a patient suffering with schizophrenia in an asylum. The story aims to highlight how society relegates people with mental health disorders to the periphery of "madness" to secure their own normalcy. Both Kali and Durga experience hallucinations. While Kali supposedly has the power to hear people's thoughts in reality, when juxtaposed with Durga the reader soon realizes that while Durga's hallucinations are unreal, they are very much symbolic of her subjective reality and the way she perceives the world and those around her. The intention is to therefore indicate how often the warped realities of those dealing with schizophrenia can persecute their peace of mind because of the trauma the sustain from when real people persecute them.
