Kasatriyan Typeface
Hi everyone! I would like to introduce you to a culture-themed typeface, "Kasatriyan". This typeface is an adaptation of the motif of a hundreds of years old ancient carving named Kanjeng Kyai Guntur Sari, which is the legacy of the First King of Kraton Jogja "Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I" a.k.a "Prince Mangkubumi".
This typeface is included in the Display Typeface category with a Victorian style. This typeface was designed to introduce and preserve one of the Yogyakarta's cultural heritage, specifically the historic carving art found in the gamelan K.K. Guntur Sari. This typeface project is also
the final project in completing my undergraduate degree at Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta. Hopefully it can provide motivation for all of us, to continue to explore all the abundant cultural potentials of the Indonesian nation, and always develop it to become something new.
