"poke restaurant Budapest"
_______________
Industrial architecture characteristics, mid-century modern interior wrapped in contemporary elements and as the main component: seafood - these are the design cornerstones of one of Studio Arkitekter's latest interior design projects, 'Pokito Budapest'.

Poké is a superfood bowl originating in Hawaii and is based on a raw fish concept, but has undergone a significant Japanese influence. It owes its overwhelming success to quality, healthy ingredients and playful variability; amplifying all of this in design and making it memorable is a really exciting challenge.

"During the design process, I paid particular attention to making the premium feeling modern and even adaptable to a franchise system, while at the same time making the space friendly and - by being a new player on the market - also truly inviting. In addition, I always have to see what we can add to the project to make it also commercially viable, since with the design we only add embellishment to the whole." - says Viktor Csap, founder of Studio Arkitekter.

The first part of the work was the coordination of the functional elements: the exact size of the kitchen area, the length of the counter system, the capacity of the restaurant and the practical part of the service. Apart from these details we got a free hand in everything.

The heavy, concrete gray walls of the 35 square meter dining room are refracted by the green tiles covering the upper arched part, behind which the kitchen is located, and the room is vivified by the synthetic resin covering of the floor, which runs up to the exterior, historic doors and windows, while the washrooms are placed on the 23 sqm upper floor in order to use the space the most sensibly.

The most exciting element of Pokito is the lighting placed above the counter, which blends into the colorful space thanks to its relatively large reflective surface. This dental lamp-like wall arm subconsciously symbolizes a beautiful, white smile, the quality and precision, and the black color adds a truly industrial character to it. All of this is perfectly complemented by the soft tapestry, which was born from the reworking of an old mosaic mural in the 70s, and the whole picture is made even more special and high-quality by the large, blue benches, log seating corners and solid wood tables treated with a special paint which gives them a unique pattern.
